Around the 16 bit era consoles were able to produce much better visuals leading to larger characters. Some even massive enemies or a boss. Then 3D and like the 8 bit era was limited. Then Dreamcast comes along and that era brought back huge bosses like the Giga's in Skies of Arcadia. God of War came long and the series is just gigantic bosses. Shadow of the Colossus each one got bigger. This generation esp early on it was a big thing. Make the biggest thing they can for us to fight.
I'm a big fan of giants in games. Personally the biggest I played while not a boss is Mechonis & Bionis in Xenoblade. These things are miles tall. If you laid them down they would be as long as Japan. Biggest ever for me was in the demo of Asura's Wrath. Well he is so big his stomach is the size of Earth and the moon would just be a blister for him.
Never going to see bigger tits than that huh?
Got any fave gigantic bosses?

The Gaurdian. About the size of any boss on Shadow of The Colossus. 500 feet tall? In any case huge. Death is about the half size of one of the blue stones on the Gaurdian. Death is no small guy. 7'5" approx. The fight was a bit on the easy side but was fun none the less. Tho kinda funny how death shrugs off getting hit by a 100 foot steel hammer. What really makes the fight is the amazing music!

Obviously not the biggest, but I've always been fond of one of the final boss fights from Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams.
Spoiler:
Fight starts at about 4:39.

Good to see you. And if that person really is a cunt he won't last long.

This isn't a boss, or that great of a game but I loved the scale of this.
It was disappointing seeing this insanely huge giant walking around in the distance and then finding out you can't actually fight him.
He actually eats these which are big enough in their own right.

Does it have a name?
Not the first time Final Fantasy has had some larger than life boss. Sin from FFX.
However side note when I first saw this screenshot I was trying to figure out what game this gen it's from. I was thinking it looks like Tidus but those are this gen visuals

Dog! I forgot Sin. Haha yeah that one is awesome. But wow that's not in the last ten years. Hard to believe!
I think that big thing is named Titan. The smaller one is an Adamantoise.

Xenoblade is full of huge enemies but mostly optional. However while not sure it counts Mechonis & Bionis are massive. Each about the size of Japan. See those fimgers in the lopped off arm. Each one of those is a few thousand feet. One area in the game while it alll takes place on the giants. One massive desert area is just the sword alone. I love looking up even at night seeing this head look down with it's read eyes

One I can't post for spoilers but in Asura's Wrath one boss is larger than the solar system and hurls planets and stars at you and since you are nearly as large you smash them out of the way like it's nothing.

This is exactly why it shouldn't have been on the Wii. Might download it for the PC next week.
