I got the cheapest parts I could to replace my failing core 2 duo motherboard, with the exception of the video card that at the last minute I spent a bit more for against my better judgment. (Was considering a 6670, or if I was lucky a 7750) I can play Old Republic/Diablo 3/WoW/STO all with everything on Ultra and I suspect if I ever get around to Skyrim I could play at least with High and low AA, so I'm content.

| Dont know what spec my laptop is without switching it on but I know its made by rock. Also use a blackberry playbook. Only use the laptop for flight sim and itunes. Eveything else i use the playbook. | |

Mine was made during the short war between bluray and hd dvd. Mine has the hd dvd drive sadly. It was good when it was new but it's well past it now.
Any think this will run windows 8 ok? | |

| It'll run Windows 8 fine. There were pc's that didn't run vista too well and Windows 7 was further optimized to run on them. (Yours doesn't even sound like one of those.) Windows 8, I believe runs pretty much like Windows 7 just with all that new metro stuff. You can see the requirements here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/system-requirements. They're usually listed a little lower than optimal but it should definitely run. | |

| Core 2 Duo's aren't that bad, they run like a champ. They were made in a time when AMD was kicking Intel's ass and Intel had to actually stop putting the market on cruise control (Like they've effectively done with all the locked multipliers on their Ivy Bridges) and actually make a quantum leap with the technology. I'd still probably be using my Core 2 Duo E6750 today if my motherboard had not faltered, even now my Sandy Bridge Intel G630 is little better 4 years later. Two gigs of ram and windows vista along with that card and disc drive are just fine unless you require high end gaming or blu ray watching on the go. I'd probably just make do with the machine if it were me. | |

| Interesting. I might just get it then. The thing that worries me is I heard that no more updates were being made for Vista. My laptop is constantly asking me to update my graphics card drivers and surely it can only be a matter of time before old and new conflict? I've got no idea.
All I know is it currently runs Flight Sim 10 without glitches and I now need to find out if it can run on Windows 8. Then I'll get it. | |

| Just read a few forums and Flight Sim 10 runs with minor issues. Most of them seem to be with add ons which I don't have. I downloading 8 now, wish me luck. | |
